This is what happens when I combine two of my favourite hobbies; papercrafting and stitching! The first notebook was done for the Friendly Stitchers notebook exchange and went to my partner, Vicky. Hope you love it, Vicky! ![]()
The design was from The New Cross Stitchers Bible by Jane Greenoff and incorporates drawn thread bands. I stitched it on hand-dyed linen using the new DMC satin threads, and used the same threads to make a twisted cord 'bookmark' which I incorporated into the rings of the book so it cannot get lost. I finished it off which some torn, handmade paper to back it the piece.

The second notebook was stitched for my husband, who rides a motorbike. He often jots down notes on scraps of paper when he's working at his computer, and these get everywhere! This seemed the perfect 'small' gift. I added some holographic card and some peel-off corner stickers, then made the plate at the bottom from a scrap of card, peel-off letters and two gold brads (split pins).
And finally, just to prove I have been working on the Jane Greenoff 'Secret Garden' Sampler, here is a photo of me taken by my daughter!
This one is coming on quite well, now - I'm at a very interesting stage involving surface stitches, not my usual thing at all but I'm enjoying it! (Update soon!!)
